EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Marshall Food Equipment Service is seeking a qualified Service Technician to diagnose and repair a variety of commercial kitchen equipment in the field. This type of equipment includes but is not limited to ovens, ranges, fryers, griddles, toasters, food warmers, coffee brewing equipment, dish machines, deli slicers and other related equipment. The service territory includes Rhode Island and surrounding Massachusetts and Connecticut areas.

Note: Wage depends upon experience.

Job qualifications include:

  • Strong command of electrical principals and an ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams to troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Understanding and/or experience in servicing natural gas and LP gas equipment is a plus
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Previous experience as a service technician repairing restaurant equipment, appliances, and HVAC
  • Trade school diploma is a plus but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance eligibility
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Alien
  • Ownership of basic hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, hammer, pliers, wire cutter, crimper
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 lb. independently

Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose kitchen equipment failures and repair it according to factory specifications
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Communicate key information to Service Dispatch and Parts Department
  • Provide 24/7 on-call service in a rotation with fellow service technicians
  • Keep a service van in good operating condition by informing management of any mechanical problems, regular maintenance, and doing routine exterior washes and interior cleaning/vacuuming
  • Must be willing to study to become CFESA Certified in Electric, Gas, and Steam
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures
